Stork Spiralized Tubular UHT
Processors
Stork Steripudd
Steripudd is the UHT system especially designed for the aseptic
processing of puddings and custards.
Steripudd installation
The principle is based on the application of the high-pressure pump in
combination with high pressure-resistant tubular heat exchanger modules.
The various heat exchanger modules forming part of the complete tubular
system are double tube, triple tube and or multi tube configurations,
specifically designed to ensure optimum processing conditions.
The design principle is based on a precisely controlled single-pass
product flow through heat exchangers that cause minimum shear and as
such, permits the handling of product formulations with low starch
contents. Every processor is aware of the cost of the modified starch
types used for UHT and aseptic processing. Processors use starches from
different suppliers and the system discussed here offers flexibility in
that it is capable of adapting the various process parameters to suit
the specific product and process requirements.
System
With the indirect tubular system, the product and sterilizing medium are
physically separated during the process.
The tubular system offers significant advantages, such as less shear,
retention of flavors, excellent thermal regeneration efficiency, and
efficient CIP. Of even greater significance are minimal product losses
at start-up and end of the production run (product/water interface
losses). The tubular heat exchanger system offers sustained operation
for 8-12 hours without requiring any downtime for cleaning.
